My dear Herschel

With reference to our conversation of the 11th

September about the transport of arms and materials from

the United States to China, we have now written to the

Burma Office asking them to bring your Government's

request to the notice of the Government of Burma as soon

as possible.

2. The Colonial Office have also been asked to do

the same in respect of the Governments of Hong Kong and

the Straits Settlements.
